Congratulations! With mid-terms completed, you're likely starting to hit your stride both academically and socially.  You're meeting new friends, you're being challenged by new ideas, and you're becoming used to balancing studies and recreation.  I'm hoping that your experiences to date are validating your decision to attend Trinity University!  Trinity is a great community, and I hope you are taking every opportunity to make the most of your education.  more>>

GREEK 101
Men and women interested in joining the fraternity and sorority community attended Greek 101 on Wednesday, October 17 in Laurie Auditorium. Students had the opportunity to meet and mingle with the 10 organizations prior to a formal presentation about requirements for membership, the four pillars of fraternity and sorority life, online resources, and introductions from each of the 10 organization presidents. If you didn’t make it to Greek 101 but are still interested in joining the Fraternity & Sorority Community, contact Women's Rush & Orientation Chair -
Jen Lewis (ΣΘΤ) and the Men's Rush & Orientation Chair - Derek Tinker(ΩΦ). Students can learn more information on the fraternity and sorority homepage.

Flu vaccine is available now in Health Services.  No appointment is necessary to get the vaccine during regular hours Monday through Friday.  The cost is $12 payable with Tiger Bucks, personal check or you may bill it to your student account.

November 15th is the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout.  Learn more>>
The Optimal Buzz
A few weeks ago, Dr. Richard Reams delivered multiple sessions of his “Optimal Buzz” presentation.  “The Optimal Buzz” is a strategy for drinking alcohol that maximizes the positive effects of alcohol and minimizes the negative effects.  If you attended one of the sessions, you’ll find a summary of the strategy here.  And if you missed the presentation, you can learn about the strategy at the same link, of course.

You and Your High School Boy/Girlfriend
Many first years arrive at Trinity involved in a long-distance relationship with someone who is attending another university or still in high school.  If you and your boy/girlfriend are trying to make it work over the miles, check out “10 Tips for Long Distance Relationships.”  While some couples can make it work long distance, others cannot.  And the breakup can be tough.  If you’re dealing with a breakup (or suspect you will be), check out this advice from the counseling center at Villanova University.  To learn more about how Trinity’s counseling center can help, visit our website

Chaplain Nickle's Recommendation:
In the midst of the adventure of this semester, as its challenges, perhaps, mount, take five minutes and thirty-three seconds and treat yourself to this reminder of what "A Good Day" this is!

Dear First-Years,
You’re half-way done with your first semester!  Congrats!  It may seem a long way off, but be reminded that summer will be here before you know it.  It is never too early to start searching for summer opportunities. Be proactive and attend the internship search workshop! Remember that Career Services  is here to help with any questions, ideas, or concerns you have about your career path.  Make an appointment with a Career Counselor to get some guidance by calling 210-999.-321, or stop by during our office hours (M-F, 1:30 – 4 p.m.).  And check out our Blog with new input by Delta Epsilon Iota!  more >>
