August 2012

Hello, Trinity Class of 2016!

I’m Dr. Kimberlyn Montford, Associate Professor of Music History and your Class Marshal.  As such, I function to support and complement the efforts of your resident mentors, advisors, and professors in helping you to discover your place in the Trinity community.  Over the next four years, it is my hope to reinforce the ‘hands-on’ nature of the Trinity experience, serve as a consistent academic ally, and personalize the rituals, ceremonies, and important landmarks of your college career.  more>>

You may not realize it, but some of the most basic First-Year occurrences will actually be crucial to your major selection, internship experience, and career choices; cornerstone advising areas for Career Services. Every month, Career Services hosts numerous programs and events. Stop by and talk to a career professional. Attend our workshops and information sessions and be open to inspiration. more>>

Greetings all,
Each month, I will be visiting the FY newsletter to offer some thoughts, musings, and dare I say, guidance about your first year at Trinity. You see, this section is called "Ben there...done that" because I, Ben, have been right where you are as an incoming Trinity student. Umpteen years ago, I was eagerly awaiting the start of my college experience. I was excited and nervous (well, mostly nervous) about what the next four years would hold, and I wanted desperately to start my college career on the right foot. Clearly, I did, because here I stand today…at Trinity…really, I promise I graduated.  more>>
