RLC October 2014

Hello Juniors! Your first full month of classes is wrapping up, and over here at ResLife we are gearing up some Junior Year Experience programming! We know the transition from being in Sophomore College to living in the upper class area can be an odd one, so keep in mind that your fellow juniors are experiencing the same feelings. Living in the upper class area is different in that your Hall Managers work to be a resource for you, not necessarily a mentor. You will experience more autonomy, less programs, but also will see more energy from us specifically in helping you develop career aspirations and prepare for life after Trinity.  This leads us to our first big program of the semester! On Tuesday, October 28th, you are invited to play The Game of Life on the Esplanade. However, this is not your typical board game. We have transformed Life into a life-sized experience aimed towards allowing you to make decisions that you’ll face in the real world. You will start a job, receive a salary, and then progress through the game make decisions such as if you’re willing to give up part of your paycheck for a monthly Netflix subscription. By the end of the game, you will end up with your monthly take-home amount, and you will be able to see where all of your money goes. We are hoping this interactive game will get you ready for those tough real-world decisions, and help ease the transition from being a college student to a work professional. I hope to see a lot of you there and remember you can always reach me by email at ljohnso5@trinity.edu
